I haven’t done a proper post in a while/ I want to remember Chicago things. Aside from Quimby’s, the party, and the lake, I ate at a million vegan places, partook in a scavenger hunt we lost because we were too good, went to bars, got some sweet ties, and played lots of games. “How am I not myself?”
– I watched I Heart Huckabees on Friday for the tenth time, and this is still my favorite part.
I think blogging for work has destroyed any desire to blog otherwise. That bike was fixed but is now gone, we found a vegan roommate who makes comics, I am going to Turkey in a month, and I spent last weekend relaxing. Things are good but the uncertainty is starting to drive me nuts. I should really have a plan B.

Keeping busy lately. Jen is moving out so we’re looking for a new roommate (yes, already), the place at which I was volunteering closed down, Kim and I are working on a biggish art project, and I’m currently blazing through this Spanish book. It feels like nothing is stable, but at least it’s exciting.
It’s been a crazy week at the apartment. Lots of going out, dancing, guests, awkward moments, silly purchases, and fun. Currently listening to: the band in the church next door rocking out singing about God in Spanish. Bushwick nights, Bushwick days.

This happened at least ten times tonight.
I apparently need to move out of this apartment by February 1st. Would it be dumb to alternately live in an artist studio and crash on friends’ couches for those two months before Peace Corp? Would you friends allow this? Or does anyone know any NYC squats worth looking into?
Finding a new apartment is expensive and too much of a drag. These options seem cheaper and more fun.
This week I volunteered finally and the two vegan kids made chicken for all of the homeless LGBTQ youth. It came out less than spectacular. I also wound up getting sick and sleeping all the next day, then last night Steph, Enrico and I debated politics for hours and it was really nice having a conversation about the world. It’s been a while since I had a life update on the tumblr. I have started learning Spanish and should be beginning my volunteerism next week barring the passing of a background check. Getting more serious about this life thing.
In the last month I’ve gone to Long Island and did everything autumn, made some apple-raisin muffins, spent way too many hours at work, went to a weird show...
Just got a bunch of new music for the first time in a long while. This is good. One of the albums is the new Beyonce album. This is weird.
